he owner’s international background further inspired the visual cross-references of mixing old world environmental sensibilities with new world, commercial references to art and sign painting. Hence the inspiration for the word mark sign painter style, and selling coffee beans in a paint can.
This direction was developed to reference vintage sign painter style, while using custom lettering in the logo mark to differentiate between the many cafes local to Bend, Oregon.
The idea for “Latte Art” stemmed from the gorgeous pastries developed by the client’s business partner, and wanting to use the slogan of “Everyday Art, Art Every Day” to help reinforce with their regulars the daily practice and community development that comes from the ritual of stopping for coffee at your local cafe.
