Jewelry Photography
Creating images focused on jewelry has been a recent addition to my skillset, but one that has grown out of personal and professional necessity.
At the beginning of 2024, my grandmother passed away, and while searching through her belongings, our family came across an album of wedding moments and candid photos captured by friends and family of my grandparents’ wedding day.
None of us had realized there were any family photos of her wedding, since their hired photographer had forgotten to take the lens cap off the entire day, and all those images were lost. Upon finding these candids, and before my grandparents’ rings were distributed to their bequeathments, I was able to take some images of their wedding rings in their boxes, and with the candid family photos.
As an extension of my wedding photography work, photographing details and jewelry is part of the job, so looking at jewelry and learning to become better at photographing and styling it has become a part of my skill set.
