The Eastern Cascades Model Railroad Club is a nonprofit club that focuses on outreach to local veterans and children with an interest in railroading. They have internal clubs for HO scale indoor layouts, as well as 1/4 scale outdoor layouts.
The Eastern Cascades Model Railroad Club approached me to develop a marketing campaign and website project with funds received from the Bend Cultural Tourism grant in preparation for their 25th Anniversary Open house.
With two main sections to their club, the indoor HO layout they’ve named the “Eastern Cascades Railroad” and the outdoor 1/4 scale layout known as the “Central Oregon Area Live Steamers,” the indoor layout had a preexisting logo in addition to the main club’s logo. To give both the indoor and outdoor layouts equal recognition, I developed marks for both the indoor and outdoor factions that work together visually while also referencing the design elements of the main logo.
In addition to the identity design work provided to the club, a working, 5-page wordpress website and social media campaign to advertise the event and bring tourism to the area was also developed and delivered. This campaign featured graphic elements to visually echo the identity system that had been established, and to help build brand recognition for the club, regionally.
